School Climate Parent Letter

Posted On Wednesday November 14, 2018

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In keeping with our goals to enhance student achievement and well-being, we are currently collecting input from our staff, students and parents/guardians about the attitudes and practices associated with our school climate. The information is being collected through an anonymous electronic survey. Students in grades 4 to 12 will be provided class time during Bullying Prevention and Intervention Week (November 19-23) to complete the online survey at school.

We want to invite you to complete a brief online survey to help us determine how you, as parents, think we are doing as a school community. Please take a minute to go to the Board website at www.dcdsb.ca or our school website at https://holyfamily.dcdsb.ca/en/index.aspx and click on the banner entitled “Safe and Accepting Schools Parents Survey”. The survey will be available until to November 30, 2018. All survey answers will be anonymous. The responses from the surveys will be used to help us evaluate both our Board and school programming related to school climate as well as the impact of our bullying prevention and intervention strategies. You can also access the survey directly by going to:

We want to make sure that we receive feedback from as many parents/guardians as possible, so please complete the survey even if you are not experiencing any issues related to school climate or bullying. Positive feedback helps us to know what we are doing well so that we can build upon those strengths. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are experiencing any difficulties related to bullying/harassment in our school. We are here to help!

Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete the short survey. Your feedback will help us to move forward on our journey of Learning and Living in Faith together.

Sincerely,

Mr. K. Bell            Mrs. R. Whale
